Maybe

Maybe . . we were supposed to meet the wrong people before meeting the
right one so that, when we finally meet the right person, we will know how
to be grateful for that gift.

Maybe. . it is true that we don't know what we have until we lose it,
but it is also true that we don't know what we have been missing until it
arrives.

Maybe . . the happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of
everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their
way.

Maybe . . the brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past;
after all, you can't go on successfully in life until you let go of your
past mistakes, failures, and heartaches.

Maybe . . you should dream what you want to dream; go where you want to
go, be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance
to do all the things you dream of, and want to do.

Maybe . . there are moments in life when you miss someone -- a parent, a
spouse, a friend, a child, your friend/boyfriend -- -- so much that you
just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real, so that once
they are around you appreciate them more.

Maybe . . the best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and
swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the
best conversation you've ever had.

Maybe . . you should always try to put yourself in others' shoes. If you
feel that something could hurt you, it probably will hurt the other
person,too.

Maybe . . you should do something nice for someone every single day,
even if it is simply to leave them alone.

Maybe . . giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they
will love you back. Don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow
in their heart; but if it doesn't, be content that it grew in yours.

Maybe . . happiness waits for all those who cry, all those who hurt, all
those who have searched, and all those who have tried, for only they can
appreciate the importance of all the people who have touched their lives.

Maybe . . you shouldn't go for looks; they can deceive; don't go for
wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile, because
it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one who
makes your heart smile.

Maybe . . you should hope for enough happiness to make you sweet, enough
trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, and enough hope
to make you happy.

Maybe . . you should try to live your life to the fullest because when
you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling, but
when you die, you can be the one who is smiling and everyone around you is
crying.

A Forever Kind of Love

By Bongki

One of our favorite patients had been in and out of our small, rural hospital several times, and all of us on med-surg had grown quite attached to her and her husband. In spite of terminal cancer and resulting pain, she never failed to give us a smile or a hug. Whenever her husband came to visit, she glowed. He was a nice man, very polite and as friendly as his wife. I had grown quite attached to them and was always glad to care for her.

I admired their __expression of love. Daily, he brought her fresh flowers and a smile, then sat by her bed as they held hands and talked quietly. When the pain was too much and she cried or became confused, he hugged her gently in his arms and whispered until she rested. He spent every available moment at her bedside, giving her small sips of water and stroking her brow. Every night, before he left for home, he closed the door so they could spend time alone together. When he was gone, we'd find her sleeping peacefully with a smile on her lips.

On this night, however, things were different. As soon as I entered report, the day nurses informed us she had steadily taken a turn for the worse and wouldn't make it through the night. Although I was sad, I knew that this was for the best. At least my friend wouldn't be in pain any longer.

I left report and checked on her first. When I entered the room, she aroused and smiled weakly, but her breathing was labored and I could tell it wouldn't be long. Her husband sat beside her, smiling, too, and said, "My Love is finally going to get her reward."

Tears came to my eyes, so I asked if they needed anything and left quickly. I offered care and comfort throughout the evening, and at about midnight she passed away with her husband still holding her hand. I consoled him and with tears running down his cheeks he said, "May I please be alone with her for awhile?" I hugged him and closed the door behind me.

I stood outside the room, blotting my tears and missing my friend and her smile. And I could feel the pain of her husband in my own heart. Suddenly from the room came the most beautiful male voice I have ever heard singing. It was almost haunting the way it floated through the halls. All of the other nurses stepped out into the hallways to listen as he sang "Beautiful Brown Eyes" at the top of his lungs.

When the tune faded, the door opened and he called to me. He looked me in the eyes then hugged me saying, "I sang that song to her every night from the first day we met. Normally I close the door and keep my voice down so as not to disturb the other patients. But I had to make sure she heard me tonight as she was on her way to heaven. She had to know that she will always be my forever love. Please apologize to anyone I bothered. I just don't know how I will make it without her, but I will continue to sing to her every night. Do you think she will hear me?"

I nodded my head "yes," unable to stop my tears. He hugged me again, kissed my cheek, and thanked me for being their nurse and friend. He thanked the other nurses, then turned and walked down the hall, his back hunched, whistling the song softly as he went.

As I watched him leave I prayed that I, too, would someday know that kind of forever love.

Coke

I don't know if these are facts or just a hoax. Well, maybe we can try doing some of them just to prove them right or wrong. LoL.

#1. In many states the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.

#2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days.

#3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.

#4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds
Wrap aluminum foil
dipped in Coca-Cola.

#5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble
away the corrosion.

#6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

#7.
To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix
with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.

#8...
To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your
windshield.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

#1.
the active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid.
It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric
acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major
contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis.

#2.
To carry Coca-Cola syrup! (the concentrate) the
commercial trucks must use a hazardous Material place
cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.

#3.
The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean
engines of the trucks for about 20 years!

Now the question is, would you like a glass of water?

or Coke?

How To Forward Emails Safely

One of the few very practical e-mails that are useful to ALL of us.

From a system administrator for a corporate system. It is an excellent message that *ABSOLUTELY* applies to *ALL* of us who send e-mails.

Do you really know how to forward e-mails? 50% of us do; 50% *DO NOT*.

Do you wonder why you get viruses or junk mail? Do you hate it? Every time you forward an e-mail there is information left over from the people who got the message before you, namely their e-mail addresses and names. As the messages get forwarded along, the list of addresses builds, and builds, and builds, and all it takes is for some poor sap to get a virus, and his or her computer can send that virus to every E-mail address that has come across his computer. Or, someone can take all of those addresses and sell them or send junk mail to them in the hopes that you will go to the site and he will make five cents for each hit. That's right, all of that inconvenience over a nickel! How do you stop it? Well, there are several easy steps.

Try the following if you haven't done it before:

(1) *When you forward an e-mail, DELETE all of the other addresses
that appear in the body of the message (at the top). *That's
right, *DELETE* them. Highlight them and delete them, backspace
them, cut them, whatever it is you know how to do. It only takes a
second. You *MUST *click the "Forward" button first and then you
will have full editing capabilities against the body and headers of
the message. If you don't click on "Forward" first, you won't be
able to edit the message at all.

(2) Whenever you send an e-mail to more than one person, do NOT
use the To: or Cc: fields for adding e-mail addresses. *Always use
the BCC:(blind carbon copy) field for listing the e-mail addresses.
* This is the way the people you send to will only see their own
e-mail address. If you don't see your *BCC:* option click on where
it says To: and your address list will appear. Highlight the
address and choose *BCC*: and that's it, it's that easy. When you
send to BCC: your message will automatically say "*Undisclosed
Recipients *in the "TO:" field of the people who receive it.

(3) Remove any "FW :" in the subject line. You can re-name the
subject if you wish or even fix spelling.

(4) *ALWAYS hit your Forward button _from the actual e-mail you
are reading_*. Ever get those e-mails that you have to open 10
pages to read the one page with the information on it? By
Forwarding from the *actual page* you wish someone to view, you stop
them from having to open many e-mails just to see what you sent.

(5) *Have you ever gotten an email that is a petition?* *_It
states a position and asks you to add your name and address and to
forward it to 10 or 15 people or your entire address book. The
email can be forwarded on and on and can collect thousands of names
and email addresses. A FACT: The completed petition is actually
worth a couple of bucks to a professional spammer because of the
wealth of valid names and email addressescontained therein._* *DO
NOT put your email address on any petition. *If you want to support
the petition, send it as your own personal letter to the intended
recipient. Your position may carry more weight as a personal letter
than a laundry list of names and email address on a petition.
*(And don't believe the ones that say that the email is being
traced, it just ain't so!)
*/
*/Some of the other emails to delete and not forward are:
/*
/1. The one that says something like, *"Send this email to 10 people
and you'll see something great run across your screen."* Or
sometimes they'll just tease you by saying 'something really cute
will happen.' *_IT AIN'T GONNA_ _HAPPEN!!!!!_ *(We are still seeing
some of the same emails that we waited on 10 years ago!)// //
/
/2. I don't let the bad luck ones scare me either, they get
trashed. /

/3. _ Before you forward an _/*/_'Amber Alert'_/* /_, or a
_/*/_'Virus Alert'_/*/_ _//_,_//_ or some of the other emails
floating around nowadays, check_// _them out before you forward
them._ Most of them are junk mail that's been circling the net for
*YEARS*! Just about everything you receive in an email that is in
question can be checked out at Snopes. Just go to
/*/www.snopes.com/* <http://www.snopes.com/>/ //. It's really easy
to find out if it's real or not. /*/If it's not, please don't pass
it on. /**/

So please, in the future, let's stop the junk mail and the viruses.

Schools of Fashion

Dreaming of being a fashion designer someday? A friend of mine do. Problem is, she doesn't know what school to go for because as we checked the web, there are thousands of schools to choose from. Since she's residing in California, she thought of focusing in looking for a good reputable school near their area.

As I help her search for a school, I've learned that taking up fashion designing is not that easy as I've thought specially Fashion Schools in California.

California has many fashion-focused areas, especially Hollywood with its influence on the film industry. If you are interested in learning in one of the leading fashion and trend-setting states, then you should consider California fashion schools.

As a fashion design student, you will have the opportunity to learn the latest strategies and techniques of the fashion industry including, computerized pattern-making, flat pattern drafting, sewing, draping, and more. You need to provide the creativity, imagination, and innovation, but if you have great design ideas you can easily learn the specifics of the fashion industry.

In other fashion school in California, you can also obtain a degree in fashion design or fashion merchandising. Graduates of the fashion design program will be qualified to work as designers, assistant designers, fashion stylists, pattern makers, fashion illustrators, and more, while graduates of the fashion merchandising program will be ready for management and/or executive training positions.

Some schools prepare students for professional careers, develop creative individual thinking, and to develop in its students a sense of uniqueness. By offering a balanced curriculum to up-and-coming fashion designers.

Some fashion schools in Los Angeles offers associate's and bachelor's degrees in fashion design, fashion marketing, and combines the two in a bachelor's degree of fashion design and marketing. You can choose to specialize or to integrate both fields, coupling the advertising, marketing, and retail know-how of the marketer with the creativity and artistic talents of the designer.

I hope my friend get to choose the right school for her. :-)

Sorry (again)

I know I haven't been here for a while and still not updating my blog. This is so because I've been busy with my personal (love) life. Well, he's here. And just like Nova before, I need to take some time off in the blogosphere. I hope you understand. Haaay, my Alexa ranking just went down. Maybe this is the price that I have to pay for not being here always. I'll be checking still my blog every now and then for my opps. Talk about my opps...some got expired already. Huhuhu. I'll try to answer your tags ASAP too.

Ruby Red

Finally! I found the perfect red shoes for me! I feel so Dorothy in The Wizard of OZ.

***Thanks to my Mommy Zette, she gave me half of the payment of this shoes. Hehehe.

My baby...Puffy

I don't yet have a real "baby", so for now, Puffy is my baby. His hair have grown long now after his last haircut 3 months ago. c",)

(Fairy) Godmother again

He is my newest addition to my growing numbers of godchildren. Meet Enzo Jeremy. Isn't he so cute and adorable? I wish to have my own next year! *wink* *wink*

Yummy Chocolate Cake

My mom came home last night bringing this yummy, sumptuous chocolate-y cake. Her students gave it to her as a gift in helping them in their thesis.

I like this signature cake of Ala Creme. When it comes to cakes, I tend to be so picky. What I look in a cake is the moisture and smoothness of its bread.

Hay, so sinful naman ng food na ito.

Imeldific

How I wish that I own all these shoes around me. I was scouting for a red shoes last week with my friends. I want to have a red shoes/sandals to partner it with my red hobo bag..... Should I go for a Peep toe? Pumps? Flats?

Tabs...that's Me

When you hear the word "Tabs", what comes in your mind? My dad calls me "Tabs", it's a short-cut word for "Taba". Since I gained weight, he calls me by that pet name. I used to get grouchy at him whenever he calls me that name but years passed, believe it or not, I got used to it. What else can I do? Everyday of my entire life since I got big, he calls me that name. Would I permit it? Nah!

I sometimes ask myself why I let myself be chubby like this. To tell you frankly, I'm not used to this kind of body. My waistline then was ranging from 26 to 28 only (You can ask our co-bloggers Jane, Yvette, Annette, Eds & Arlene). My gaining of weight happened when I started working in a call center 7 years ago. To add it up, I had some eye allergies that requires me to take some meds with steroids. From 110 lbs, now I'm 150lbs. Haay, embarrassing it may seem, I gained a total of 40 lbs. To think, I'm still single and haven't given birth nyan ha.

Because of my being Tabs, I always have an irregular menstrual period. I have to take some pills in order for me to have my monthly period. My Tita whose an OB-Gyne said this is due to my hormonal imbalance and told me directly that I have to lose weight otherwise this will continue to happen or worse, will have difficulty in conceiving.

Now, I'm awaken by the reality that I'm not getting any younger. That I need to do something better for myself. That I should stop procrastinating. That I seriously need to lose weight.

I enrolled myself at a nearby gym here in our place. It's not as posh as the other gym at the Metro but it's a decent gym where all the equipment I need are there for me to start my so-called life again. It's been a week now since I started out and hopefully, in 3 months time, I'll see a difference in myself soon.

I'll keep you posted, don't worry. c",)

Sorry...

I know I haven't been blogging for a while and I hope I'm not losing my readers here. Well, I'm back now. I have my few reasons of not being present in the blogosphere for a while.

  1. Super busy with work- It's March and it'll be audit time for us in our account. Got to make sure that my reps' folders are all updated otherwise lagot ako sa manager namin.
  2. I got sick for a couple of days-Fever and Flu
  3. My mom always brings the computer in school- haay, ang hirap ng nakiki-share lang (we have a desk top computer, kaya lang sobrang bagal eh)
  4. I enrolled at a nearby gym- Weheee, todo na pampapayat ko!

I missed bloghopping... so now, I'm gonna do it to catch up with you guys...
