Should I?

I'm working in one of the call centers in Clark for almost 7 years. Loyal? I don't think so. I've been with the company because my friends are there. The work is A-ok. The salary's not bad.

Since I graduated from college, I applied in our company without knowing what's in it for me. I really don't know what kind of job I'm entering to. I just went out with my college friends telling me that we're going to apply in this company where the compensation is great. So I said, Okay.

Way back 2001, whenever someone asks me where I work, I always say our company's name. And when I'm asked what nature of work do I have? I say call center. That's where I always see their puzzled face. Asking me again "ano ulit ang work mo?", that's the time I say "telephone operator po"... Funny but true. That time, people doesn't understand & know what a call center is not until around 2003.

And now, there's this newest call center in Clark. Some of my friends applied and got transfered there already. Compensation and benefits are great as well as the salary. Very, very enticing. As for me, I'm thinking whether to try my luck there or not. But there's this thing inside me that makes me sad leaving my current company. Maybe because I've been with them for a long time and it became my comfort zone already. Maybe it's time for me to spread my wings and leave my so-called second home.

As what they say:

Midnight coffees. Birthday pizzas. Accentuated english. Dashing clothes. Irate customers. So much money, so little time. Late night parties. Sunrise beers. Crush on coaches. Fight for appraisals. Die hard friendships. Tears for love. Nothing missing, just everything. People call it CALL CENTERs. We call it "LIFE".

A Glass of Milk

One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry.

He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water! .

She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it so slowly, and then asked, How much do I owe you?" You don't owe me anything," she replied.

"Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness." He said ... "Then I thank you from my heart." As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit.

Many year's later that same young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease.

Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes.

Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room. Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to her case. After a long struggle, the battle was won.

Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge, and the bill was sent to her room. She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she looked, and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She read these words ...

"Paid in full with one glass of milk"

(Signed) Dr. Howard Kelly.

Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart prayed:

"Thank You, God, that Your love has spread broad through human hearts and hands.

" There's a saying which goes something like this: Bread cast on the water comes back to you. The good deed you do today may benefit you or someone you love at the least expected time.

If you never see the deed again at least you will have made the world a better place - And, after all, isn't that what life is all about?

'Idol' boots another finalist, leaving 5 to vie for title

Wed Apr 23, 9:48 PM PDT

Carly Smithson lost another chance to be a superstar.

Smithson, the 24-year-old Irish bartender from San Diego, was the latest cast-off on "American Idol" as the field was narrowed to five finalists during Wednesday's results show.

Smithson had won rave reviews from judges -- but apparently not votes from viewers -- after performing "Superstar" from "Jesus Christ Superstar" on Tuesday's Andrew Lloyd Webber-themed performance show.

Controversy had swirled around Smithson at the start of the seventh "Idol" season because of her previous experience in the music industry. In 2001, MCA Records released Smithson's debut "Ultimate High," which flopped on the charts.

Syesha Mercado, who sang "One Rock 'n' Roll Too Many" from "Starlight Express," joined Smith in the bottom two on Wednesday's results show.

Brooke White was visibly shocked she wasn't one of the show's lowest vote-getters.

White caused a stir Tuesday when she stopped singing a few seconds into "You Must Love Me" from "Evita" and asked "Idol" music director Ricky Minor to start over, a first for the Fox singing competition. Jackson and Simon Cowell praised White's decision to reboot, but Paula Abdul was upset about the do-over.

"You must never start and stop," Abdul told White.

Men who are Hot

Tagged by Arlene.

The question is : Who are the men you want to sleep with if you were single?

My gawd, Arlene, you made me think hard on this one. Hehehe. Anyways, these are the men that came up on my mind first.

First is Piolo Pascual. Who could resist this very charming man? One time he had a mall tour at SM Clark and I can't believe what I did! He passed in front of me and my friend and I just blurted out "I love you , Piolo!". Hahaha. Remember the Sprite commercial where a girl shouted "I love you, Piolo!"? That's exactly what happened! Hehehe.

Second is Marc Nelson. Need I say more on this one? Just look at him. He's like He-Man!
Third is David Cook. Not because I'm watching American Idol right now, I love him when he's singing.

Beyonce' and my Mom

To the Left, to the left...To the left, to the left....

That was Beyonce Knowles' famous song but I'm talking about a different Beyonce' here. My Choco Labrador, Beyonce'. She turned 2 last March 19, see how big she is now?

One Team, One Summer

A friend of mine bid farewell to our company after 7 years of working in a call center. What we did is planned a little summer getaway. We're supposed to go to Puerto Galera however, one of our friends is 8 months pregnant so the farthest we could go with her is Subic. We can't leave her behind 'coz she's the clown of the group.

We stayed overnight at All-Hands beach resort inside the freeport. Their villas are not that good and the service is poor. Sooobrang bagal. What's nice is that the villas are just beach front. Yun lang. I got myself a henna tattoo (Chinese character meaning Goodluck) and Vina, my other friend, got herself a butterfly henna tattoo.

Maybe

Maybe . . we were supposed to meet the wrong people before meeting the
right one so that, when we finally meet the right person, we will know how
to be grateful for that gift.

Maybe. . it is true that we don't know what we have until we lose it,
but it is also true that we don't know what we have been missing until it
arrives.

Maybe . . the happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of
everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their
way.

Maybe . . the brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past;
after all, you can't go on successfully in life until you let go of your
past mistakes, failures, and heartaches.

Maybe . . you should dream what you want to dream; go where you want to
go, be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance
to do all the things you dream of, and want to do.

Maybe . . there are moments in life when you miss someone -- a parent, a
spouse, a friend, a child, your friend/boyfriend -- -- so much that you
just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real, so that once
they are around you appreciate them more.

Maybe . . the best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and
swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the
best conversation you've ever had.

Maybe . . you should always try to put yourself in others' shoes. If you
feel that something could hurt you, it probably will hurt the other
person,too.

Maybe . . you should do something nice for someone every single day,
even if it is simply to leave them alone.

Maybe . . giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they
will love you back. Don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow
in their heart; but if it doesn't, be content that it grew in yours.

Maybe . . happiness waits for all those who cry, all those who hurt, all
those who have searched, and all those who have tried, for only they can
appreciate the importance of all the people who have touched their lives.

Maybe . . you shouldn't go for looks; they can deceive; don't go for
wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile, because
it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one who
makes your heart smile.

Maybe . . you should hope for enough happiness to make you sweet, enough
trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, and enough hope
to make you happy.

Maybe . . you should try to live your life to the fullest because when
you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling, but
when you die, you can be the one who is smiling and everyone around you is
crying.
